Maybe I'm a little odd, but I have never used miles for domestic upgrades and I never plan to. I also consider it wasteful. Although I fly up front 95% of the time now, even when I was flying mostly coach, I never thought this was a wise use of miles for domestic flights. Most of you that are disagreeing (based on your locales) probably are thinking international upgrades, which we all know is a much better use of miles. I think the author of the MSNBC article was thinking short haul upgrades.
