There are so many Mexican places in SF you probably can't eat at them all even if you visited a different one each day for a year.
Just down the street from Marimba is Andale, which makes good inexpensive burritos and margaritas. There is also a branch at SFO if you get stuck in the international terminal.
And a few blocks away on Lombard is La Barca, which is serviceable.
My personal choice would be Tommy's on Geary near 23rd St. which thankfully is not listed in Zagat.
