HSs are aimed at the long-stay business customer so they come with some designs and amenities you'd find in an apartment, e.g., kitchenette, living room, VCRs, 2 TVs, fridge, microwave, stotop, dishwasher. Maybe even a pool and outdoor BBQs. Get a manager's reception M-Th evenings at many locations + usually so-so breakfasts. HIs are basically motel+ - good for an overnight stay though many now provide complimentary high-speed internet. Get breakfast here too - also so-so.
