AA allows you to change their award tickets to different routings (same OD pair) for no fee.
I'll take a change fee for award travel over a booking fee. $75 to use a "free" ticket was one of the BIG reasons that drove me away from AA last year. I'm a BIG fan of United/*A awards that can be booked the day before travel.
