I'm not waffling, and there's nothing to reconcile -- I'm talking about expectations. I've had enough restaurant meals (and flights) ruined so that if I see a child, I'll try and move elsewhere. All children aren't disruptive, and all parents don't bring disruptive children to places where they'll be a nuisance. I own a handgun -- I always treat it as if it was loaded, too.


And how do you propose that someone fly from SFO to PEK without taking a long-haul or red-eye (or both) flight?
I propose either they don't go, or the airline step up to the plate and set up a section on the aircraft which either segregates the child or segregates those passengers who don't want to be disturbed byit.

No, that's what I do when I see parents board.
