nparker99,
I believe there are 3 main room categories: Superior, Deluxe and Executive. I upgraded myself to Executive using points but they gave me a Deluxe room (with Lounge/Breakfast access) since I requested for a room with a balcony. I dont think there is much difference between the Deluxe and Executive rooms; the Deluxe room has a balcony while the Executive room does not have a balcony but the bathroom is larger. You are able to compare the rooms at the hotel website

I have seen extremely low rates for "Standard" rooms before but there is no picture for this room category on the website. Also, the "Superior" room shown on the website seem to have been changed; it used to look like a 70's style room before but the latest picture seem to indicate a room that has been renovated with the "heavenly" bed.
I thought that food at the Lounge was decent, only complain being that no fruit juice or soft drink was available outside of cocktail hours. The continental breakfast had a few hot items, hence its actually more than a strictly "continental" breakfast. No doubt there are many Lounges with a more extensive spread, but it would not be fair to describe the breakfast here as "non-existent".
The Westin Miyako is not perfect, but for the price and location I dont mind staying there again.
BTW, did you stay in one of the "renovated" Executive rooms (with beige carpet and plasma tv) at the Westin Tokyo ? Looks really nice on their website.
