I want to utilise my Amex 2-4-1 in October which I realise I can only use on BA metal (I never used to talk like this before I found this site!!)

I have number of options in Club to the Middle East, i.e. Dubai, Muscat, Bahrain and Doha (availability in Club looks good for all).

now my questions:

1) are there all BA 747 aircraft to the Middle East - should I avoid Club on the sleeper service and / or 777 or 767 aircraft? (if applicable)

2) I will have to buy a business class ticket from the Middle East to Male - anyone have any recommendations (I have flown Qatar airlines many times but not Emirates nor Sri Lankan)

3) Can I earn miles to transfer to BA from any of the airlines that serve the Middle East - Male route
