Just to clarify
Hi Guys,
I've read all the way through this thread and i just wanted to clarify a couple of points mostly about the flexibility of the fare.
If i book a tip>syd "straight thru" via travelocity.co.uk to get a decent price and bookable online - going out on Feb 25th 2006, returning 18th March...can i change various aspects of the trip?
I'd like to do the LHR>TIP as an award flight probably a few weeks before and use my first portion of the TIP>SYD as my return flight to london.
Can i do a layover in london without engaging the HIP rules?
Also I've picked flights that route thru Bangkok on the way out and Singapore on the return - i'd like to do a stopover for a couple of days each way - from what i've read it sounds like this is possible as well...
I'd like to return on QF just to give it a go - is this a good idea or is BA 'F' far superior? At the moment travelocity doesnt show the QF flight im looking for, again can i just change this?
Is it best to work out a rough schedule and reticket the whole lot in one go or just do it on an 'as i feel like' basis? What are the likely cost differences - if i do a bulk change, will i get charged for one re-issue or multiple....?
If i call BA to book, will they charge me the £15 booking fee as i cant book this online at ba.com? I'm guessing so...Also, is this worth doing to get the additional ba miles for booking on my prem plus amex or should i just book with AA.com or travelocity (couldnt get anything on expedia or opodo)
Finally (phew) if i book with travelocity, can i only change the flights through them or can i just call BA? (i spend an hour on the phone to some gimp at travelocity in america and they still couldnt sort out another of my bookings so this is looking much less appealing!)
Thanks in advance.
(I dont know what i did before without you FT'ers! ^ )
