Some very interesting points indeed, but the crux for me was I booked through Starwood for its trusted service and hounarbility. £35 per night was a great deal but the way this was handled by the hotel and Starwood has left a very bitter taste. For that very reason I will hold out for my full confirmed reservation with all benefits as stated on my confirmed reservation booked through Starwood.com where they say "Rest assured that your reservation will be error free. That means no surprises at check-in.".

Starwood claims that "Many online travel sites charge extra fees for online bookings. We don't." rather amusing when you think Orbitz actually looked after its customers original bookings!
