It was designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen, a leading mid-20th century architect. Two of his most well-known buildings are the TWA Terminal at JFK and the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.
Too bad the rest of IAD isn't as inspired as Saarinen's main building. From soaring to sobbing especially when sentenced to Terminal G.
