need to travel w/ an electric bass guitar soon, i would like to check it (it is in an ATA approved flight case). aa.com says to call for details re. checking musical instruments- i got a variety of answers from several different CSRs on the matter (specifically whether i will get hit w/ oversize charges, etc.).

does anyone have anecdotal experience with this?
