I'm going to a conference in Austin the week of May 2nd and the Hampton was booked solid. Just out of curiosity I asked about the Diamond Guarantee and was given a rate of $160. The new Hilton around the corner had rooms for $180 so I took that instead.

I had a lot of other options, but I just thought I'd ask to see what the rate would be.
