Going through the piles of mail that accumulated while I was away in Africa, came across a thick, medium-sized envelope containing this year's PRESIDENTS CLUB PREMIER elite kit. A classy felt pouch contained a pair of luggage tags, while my new membership card was stuck to the front cover of this year's guidebook. Same folder of upgrade and U$50 dining coupons.

Only stayed a couple of times at FAIRMONTs last year, so didn't requalify the usual way, but expect this is a renewal of the AMEX PLAT benefit I had registered for when it was first offered a couple of years ago. [Not sure if this is a benefit of the AEROPLAT AMEX card, as I have kept the original version.] I know it is also a benefit of the DINERS/MASTERCARD program, and I did get the code but as yet had not called to activate elite status that way.

Now that I have dropped down to SPG basic, guess it is time to take advantage of the AMEX PLAT Gold status in that program too...
