It's always fun to fantasize, but let's face it, most of these changes would require a lot of cash that UA does not have and would rely on enormous increases in high fare pax on UA which does not seem realistic. The unpleasant fact is that there are way too many premium seats chasing a shrinking pool of high fare pax. And the majors are playing a game of chicken with each other -- they all know that they need to reduce premium seating capacity but are afraid to be the first to move as whoever goes first will just alienate their FFers. And since collusion is illegal, they are stuck going down the tubes together (though they are being flushed at different speeds). Buying a bunch of widebodies to start service from smaller cities like DEN and SEA will only make the overcapacity problem worse and will cause them to sell even more V,S,T fares. It would, however, be paradise for us 1Ks for as long as it could last.
Sorry to be a downer and bring reality into the situation.
