I just checked with citigold. You can get both cards. My guess is that you can also get the AAdvantage card. For me, the only attraction of the premier pass is that you get points for flying airlines other than American - which happens ONLY occasionally - but might happen more often if they got pooled together for use for a ticket. I would get both if I were you. Diners Club is the best when renting a car, and for their dining program. I don't use it for anything else. But when they have had promotions like British Airways 2 for 1 it was a good way to pool miles from other accounts. I was able to transfer in miles from Delta and United from mine, my daughter's and husband's accounts and send them all to British Airways and not lose anything because of the 2 for 1 promo (you lose 50% when you transfer in - so doubling makes it an even exchange.
