Priority baggage tag for non-elite ... how did this happen?

Well, I'm elite now as I just hit 2P, but that's beside the point.

I checked in at BWI this morning in the elite/business/first line today. Didn't have status, and my domestic segment was Y, while my transpac was in C.

Picked up my baggage when I got to NRT and it had a Star Alliance Priority baggage handling tag on it. I thought only 1K's and F pax got this privilege?

The only remote thing I can think of is that I had my FT luggage tags on there that had priority on it, but that shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Was this just some fluke?
