* April 19, 2005 - May 31, 2005
AAdvantageŽ Customer Service is conducting a test to allow AAdvantageŽ members to transfer 500-mile (EUPG) upgrades from one account to another. An email will be sent on April 19, 2005 (rescheduled from April 18) to targeted members in the U.S. and Canada** who have EUPGs in their account and who have opted in to receive eSummaries and AAirmail.
* ANY member can transfer EUPGs to an ELITE member's account for a fee of $15.00USD for each upgrade transferred.
* The upgrades can be transferred FROM any member's account, regardless of elite status, but only TO the account of an elite status member.
* The $15.00USD fee is nonrefundable and must be paid for using a credit card in the name of the member transferring the miles.
* There is no limit to the number of elite accounts into which these upgrades can be deposited.
* All types of EUPGs can be transferred: Earned Upgrades, Complimentary Upgrades, and Purchased/Mileage Exchange Upgrades.
* During the test, all transfers will be completed by AAdvantageŽ Customer Service in U.S. (HDQ office).
* Once transferred, the upgrades will work the same way they do today. I.e. can be used to upgrade a companion, etc.
** If you receive a request to participate in the test from a member outside the U.S. and Canada, or someone who did not receive the email offer, please transfer to ACS at HDQ: 800-421-0600, or the appropriate Speed Dial. (International Res Office ACS agents will not be able to process these requests during the test period). Any member is eligible, but only U.S. and Canada members are being targeted.
