Hilton Riverside New Orleans
I just completed a 3 night stay at the Riverside. I was there for a convention. What a lovely hotel!
Check in was flawless. They had a VIP desk for HH status holders. My papers were ready when I arrived. I was upgraded to a Tower room with lounge access. The only problem, which I experience with every single chain, is that my smoking room requested notation in my profile is ignored. I've quickly learned to double check at the desk when I arrive. They quickly found me another room with a partial view of the river. I believe my original room had a full river view. But it did not matter - I was hardly in the room.
The room was spacious and clean with the usual amenities provided in Hiltons. Turndown service was provided. Wireless internet access was available in every room and cost $9.95 per 24 hour period. If you didn't have a card they could provide you with one.
The lounge was one of the nicest I have seen anywhere. Marble floors and large windows facing the river. There was another room across the hall that also had tables & chairs.
The usual continental breakfast was provided and they had 2 expresso machines as well as ordinary coffee. Beverages & snacks were provided all day, but not bottles of water. They had large bottles for drinking in the lounge, but there weren't any available to take back to your room. In the evening they had hor's douvres between 5pm & 7pm but I was never in the hotel at that hour to check them out. The lounge was open until 10pm and had snacks & drinks availabe, which I took advantage of.
If I return to MSY I will definitely stay at this hotel again. It's very well located and the new Harrahs casino is right across the street.
