If you are booked under the FHR rate code(which varies from one chain and/or property to the next), *AND* you pay with the AMEX, then you get the amenities. You don't necessarily have to book through PTS to get that FHR rate *IF* you know the right rate code.

To a hotel, it's a rate plan like any other.
