Heathrow Arrivals really so Wonderful?

I just watched Love Actually with Hugh Grant. I found the very beginning scene interesting as it showcased the arrivals area at Heathrow (T1 I believe) with happy, happy people greeting happy friends and family, everyone smiling, everyone loving, and well, it was love actually. I got oh so fuzzy a feeling inside.

I try to think back to times going through customs and out the door at LHR and can rarely remember thinking how in love everybody was or looked. Or most airports actually. Mostly I remember miserable looking chauffeurs eagerly awaiting their charges. Maybe because I tend to race through and am so used to the experience of meeting family and friends that the novelty has worn off.

Anybody else get excited or witness excitement at arrivals?

Oh, and then there was Sam (Liam's character's son) running through the glass arrival corridors after running through security in the departure hall, to a VS flight ostensibly departing from Terminal 1.
