In the past several months, SFO-JFK Y fares have gone from ~$250 to ~$350, and I'm now pulling fares for August and beyond that are $400+. These are almost double from a year ago. Clearly, AA wasn't making much on a $220 transcon ticket, but are these the result of fuel increases? UA PS? the end of SJC-JFK? Anyone else notice these increases? Is it possible they'll come down as the the departure dates get closer?
