I don’t understand that concept, going down from the check in area into a bottleneck which could get sticky during peak times. Just be glad you were over at the C gates. If you happen to be flying any other airline, you'll go out of the A Concourse. Security there is UP the escalator, and believe me it DOES lead to major problems when the very small room upstairs that's supposed to contain the security line overflows. They actually will hold people at the bottom of the escalator in ANOTHER line when it gets too bad.
At least A has some decent food (some Chinese and an A&W just inside security).
