You'll be very pleasantly surprised... there's a fun gay scene in Panama City. Check out
www.chemibel.com to get you started. There are several good discos, a few very local bars, and a nice new clean & sometimes very busy Sauna (Turcos Masculinos). Taxis are cheap... use them to get around, just agree on a price before you get in... no meters. Usually no more than about $2.00 - $2.50 to go anywhere in town, though it may cost a bit more late at night. You'll have a great time. Be sure to wander around in Casco Viejo (during the day). Reminds me of New Orleans architecture.
