Today I was trying to book online a fare from YVR to LAX for both myself and my one year old son on aircanada.ca I entered 1 adult and 1 child between 2 and 11 (since I want to buy a seat for him)

When I selected the fares, I was surprised to see that the fare was the same for both of us. My understanding, and in fact, my experience has been that there is a discount for children.

Is this correct? IF so, do I have to call to get this discount? i.e. I cannot book it online?
