my CUN is not your CUN
gee, stimpy, we must be living in two different cancun's
to quote from TODAY's Wall Street Journal: (page D5)
"CAUTION IN CANCUN"
Cancun, the Mexican city best known for white-sand beaches and a pulsing night life, now is the subject of a State Department CRIME WARNING (my emphasis).
According to the announcement, NUMEROUS tourists in the Yucatan Peninsula cities of CANCUN and Merida have reported being robbed by taxi drivers and people who seem to be police officers. In some cases, travelers were targeted in taxis or RENTAL CARS and forced to withdraw cash from ATM's to pay mysterious fines and traffic violations. The alert cites a recent shortage of public funds to pay for police and other public services. Tourists with similar complaints should report them immediately to the U.S. consulates in Cancun and Merida."
So, maybe my 35 years of rip-offs, dishonesty, and slimy experiences, without fail, is more relevant than yours??
(and i was in cancun when there was only two hotels and dirt roads-and still got ripped off by the cab drivers)
so- forget about driving without insurance, maybe we should all reconsider cancun as a destination??
