Really? I had a representative from Marriott try and do this for me and he wasn't even able to contact anyone at the resort who could help.

This forum is here to avail yourself of any information you are in need of and think another member could help you with. Considering there is a representative from Marriott on this forum, I think it is a very good place to turn.
The hotel would be more than happy to give you an email address to which to send concerns or a mailing address for the GM. First thing you need to find out is the individual's name.

I think you might consider changing your reservations to another property because your less-than-optimal impression of this individual hotel has already been set. I think you're only setting yourself up for a let-down.

This takes the cake on unhelpful bad advice.
