I've jumped ahead and booked an award MEL-SIN return journey for the
SIN Run DO on
Jan 14/15 next year. Sadly in WHY, but it will save:
- 10,000 frequent flyer points as it was ticketed before 24th May, and
- $62 (2 x $31 increase) in Fuel levy as it has been ticketed before 20th April.
I am going to try schedule it in as a stopover/positioning location in a DONE4 (ex CMB). If I'm unable to connect the DONE4 with this, the points booking will stand and I'll have flights to the do.
If I can get a DONE4 working in conjunction, I'll either cancel the award booking and loose 5,000 points or adjust the dates and nest it with a SIN-MEL-SIN trip.
It's a no-brainer even if I do lose 5000 points, as it would cost another 10,000 after May 24th anyway.
