AA frequently oversells LAX-OGG 757 flights, not the least of which include 253. With 1 seat left on a recent trip of mine(via Availability tool in Y class), AA solicited 7 volunteers (everyone booked for the flight did show). That leaves us with the potential of 8 oversales on 253. This is not necessarily reflective of your particular flight, but nonetheless, assume that your flight is overbooked. Get to the airport early, and get seat assignments as soon as possible.
Because of the fare class (likely heavily discounted) you booked in, you may be toward the top of the list for involuntary denied boarding, so I stress, get there early. You can not afford to be late.
If the possibility of a denied boarding compensation entices you, and you wouldn't mind a few extra hours (6 or so) taken away from your Hawaiian vacation, voluntary compensation starts at $500 for 253, generally with confirmed seats on AA 161 (departs at 6:05PM).
