As I said on another posting I think the computer is linking upgrades to the fare paid without reguard to the status level. I have no direct proof other than the increase number of "Plats in the Back" who are on low fares. This also could be the cause of battlefield promotions since the no show of the upgraded passinger is passed on at the gate.

Complete speculation on my part but the changes of March 16 continur to filter thru.
