Thanks. T-Mobile had this deal in the past, as I used to upgrade my phone twice. But for a while either T-Mobile discontinued the upgrade program, or resellers didn't tell anybody about it. When I wanted a triband phone a few years ago, I could not get the same T-Mobile reseller to give me a discount on a new phone with a service renewal, when they had done it for me two years before. Instead I bought a Motorola Timeport P280 off of Ebay.

The P280 is a great phone. It has a few bugs, but as someone posted earlier, it has a very strong signal, and very good battery life.

I think the key is to deal with T-Mobile people and locations directly, not the resellers. Also, if you are a T-Mobile customer and log into their website, you will find a link to the upgrade program.
