I don't like to play the status game with other pax. I am in the enviable position of being able to trump most other pax, but can't imagine a situation where the FA or GA wouldn't know and I'd have to resort to telling them.
As a 1P you are at risk of being trumped by someone else (although the jerks are usually non-status, but not always). If someone whipped out a 1P card to make a point, this is the one reason I'd whip out my GS card. If you need to resort to status, the game is already lost IMHO.
