Hmm, my wife upgraded from a 4GB mini to a 6GB mini and all she did was plug it in and it was fine. She is linking to a powerbook which I suspect is important in the ease of use. Our limited experience, and that of a couple friends is that IPODs with WinPCs is a very different situation. As much as we love ours our advice would be to get a Mac or get another MP3 player.
