We stayed at the Essex House Easter weekend and were very disappointed. My BF and I are both SPG Plats in our right. We checked in and the only "upgrade" we could get was to a King Smoking Room. The room was very tiny and there was little room to walk around. The room did have a decent size closet. We stored our belongings in the closet since there was no room elsewhere.

Another thing I thought was tacky was that one had to call down for turn down service. Frankly when staying in this expensive of a hotel turn down service should be included in every room. We called down one day and the only thing they did was remove the dirty towels and left no clean ones in its place.

I will probably not stay here again.
