The install Office twice scenario is one where you have it on a home PC and can also install it on a laptop, not to be used concurrently.
If the OEM was installed/purchased on a laptop to begin with, I am not sure that applies. But, I do not know for sure.
Well, I bit the bullet. I decided that it was worth a try, and I was fully prepared to plead my case to Microsoft (or their India CS branch). I loaded it on the new notebook. Just before clicking on the telephone option, I decided to give it a go with the internet...
Activation Successful!!!
I'm not sure what happened or didn't happen, but I am VERY happy.
