I think the two of you are talking about slightly different things...

flysurfer's point was that you can be SEN for ten consecutive years by earning 100k miles every two years, adding up to 500k

SenAOI's point is that to get lifetime SEN, this is not enough, you must have earned at least 1M miles during your ten years as SEN.

However, a follow-up question: are you saying that it doesn't matter whether one is SEN when turning 60? Someone remaining SEN between the ages of 20 and 30 and racking up a million miles, would get lifetime SEN 30 years later even if being a non-SEN fot those 30 years? (by the current rules, obviously, I' m not looking for a prediction of whether the rules will remain the same or not).
