Help me out here - is 12 months expiration on $100 a limited-time prmotion or the going deal now?

My wife has a Tracfone that expires in August and I'm planning on switching her to TMobile so we can swap phones when it makes sense (small flip phone vs. PocketPC). I'm pushing her to use up her Tracfone minutes before the card expires so a long-term prepaid card is her way to go...
