Quite the contrary---
Thanks to Southwest, fares into FLL are usually lower than MIA and PBI, especially for poeple not coming from the Northeast. I'm guessing CO forsees traffic growth (and rightly so) and is building to accommodate it.
So what's the deal with only 2 daily CLE-FLL flights, anyway?!?! And only 1 CLE-MIA???
Personally I like MIA a lot-- I'm heading there at the end of Aug to connect with COPA. People watching and airplane watching are much better, and given its purpose as an international gateway, it's not nearly a mess like JFK, LAX, or ORD-- you never have to change terminal buildings or ride a train between connections.
FLL is an O-D airport vs. the connecting point that MIA is, so I imagine passenger preferences are different, based on their use of the airport as a destination vs. a connection.
