(1) How much prior to published departure times does actual boarding commence (in the normal course of things) - SFO / MSP / TPA ?
(2) How good/bad is the overhead bin situation in both the 320s and 757s in F? Do I need to wave my boarding pass, shout "do you know who I am and where I'm sitting

" while wheeling over the backs of several feet to make sure my normal bag gets overhead? Or is there generally enough F space for all / almost all. (Also, do they reserve any special bin for row 1?)
Thanks!
On the 757 they will begin to board bout 30 minutes before departure... Overhead will probably not be a problem. Especially if they board from the middle door. the A320 is usually about 25 minutes prior to departure. Usually overhead space is not a problem.
I usually scope out my competition by lining up with the rest of the FC bunch and if it looks like a lot of roller bags I try to get in the middle or front of the pack... Usually the ones who get to put thier crap in coach are the ones who board 10 miuntes before departure. They also whine real loud about no space...
