Among other things I am a licensed locksmith. While I am not familier with the door in question, making two assumptions about the door and lock that I would expect to see at a Park Hyatt, the hotel should have had a tool that would allow them to gain entry even if the battery has died and the electronics have been hit by lightning. (It's a generic tool that works on all brands/models).
It is amazing to me that the property would not have one of these tools, or that no one at the property could find it. Resorting to a rotary pick (ie. a drill) is really a last resort.
