Whilst the rules state that any flight with a destination in zones 1 and 2 should have a mileage charge for a connection in reality I think that the connection has only been charged when this is on BD metal.

Someone may be able to comments on situations where there is an ALL BD and all LH option as I suspect you may avoid the connection charge by routing throught Germany !
