Thumbs up HGI is the hotel to stay at.

I second this recommendation strongly. I do multi transcon MR's out of LAX frequently, and this is the hotel I stay at the most. Of course I do mattress runs within my mileage runs(Garden Inn one night, DoubleTree the next,...).

About the hotel, there's not much around it, but you won't need anything anyway. It's very clean. The rooms are nice and spacious. They have a free shuttle to/from the airport(I always tip the driver a few bucks). There is a part of this hotel called the "University". This is where they test out new concepts and products. If you're lucky or HH elite you'll score one of these rooms. Did I mention that the rooms are clean?

Head over to the Hilton forum if you need more info.
