Get BC seat

At 13 months old I would discourage a lap child. We did it for our kids up to about 8 months of age in Business Class to/from SIN. Basically once they have mobility (crawling, walking) it's too much of a struggle to cope with them... by 13 months they're pretty heavy and active.

Strongly suggest you "buy" a seat in Business Class. First class doesn't really work well for infants because of the partitioning between seats. The best bet is three seats in center section of Business Class with the child in the middle. This is what we did until we became a family of 4.

If you decide on Lap Child, then I still think Business Class is a better bet than First Class. I concur with other posters about row 25/26 on 747s.. by far the best for leg room... both center section and window sides.
