In theory it shouldn't. You are not getting the room for free you are using a different currency for payment.

My best stay in NYC was at the Waldorf. Got a suite there that was just out of this world, fireplace included. That was the only stay so I can;t comment on how good the non-suite rooms are, but I would imagine they're nice too. The Millenium is a close 2nd. And as an added bonus the guests there tend to be business types, not many loud families on vacation.
