From what I remember from previous posts on this topic, whether this works or not depends on who posts the points to your account.

Sometimes it is posted on the date the process it, other times you see a "Lifetime status credit adjustment" or something similar when it is processed on a subsequent membership year.

No idea how to influence it to getting the credits credited in the new year...
