I guess I have been a frequent visitor to this site and have received all the answers by reading through the informative threads. Finally with the search tool down and enough searching through google, I would like to ask you experts a question.
I have a B class ticket with stopovers permitted, booked from
KIX-HNL (stopover),
HNL-LAX (stopover), then
LAX-BOS via IAD (3 classer

).
I called an agent to use 15000 miles to upgrade the whole way per my understanding of the rules as 2 stopovers permitted. "If fare rule permits stopovers, a maximum of 2 stopovers are allowed per award. Awards are one way." (ual.com)
However, the agent declared that the KIX-HNL (stop) and HNL-LAX (stop) would require the 15000, and then the LAX-BOS would require another 8000. I may be wrong but it would seem that if the rule stated as one stopover allowed, then the KIX-HNL-LAX would be all upgraded. And if two stopovers, then my whole trip can be upgraded using the 15000.
I guess I will try calling another agent, but before I calmly argue with another agent, I wanted clarification from this forum and eliminate my ignorance.
Thanks.
