By "Power Plugs" I assume you mean the cords that attach it to the power adaptor / computer. The new photo iPods do not come with a Firewire cable anymore, but you can still use your old firewire dock cable to charge / sync it. They removed the Firewire cable since most Windows computers don't come with a Firewire port.. They had to change the power adaptor since they decided to remove the firewire cable. I believe it was a pure cost cutting measure because iPods are known to have issues with connecting over USB vs Firewire.

We've never had any trouble with our iPod upgrades on the Mac.
or is it the new 60GB (non-photo)?
