One time I was flying to BKK and had a connection from my AC flight from YVR-ICN (May 2003). I slept for a bit but then needed to get some work done before my mtgs the next day in BKK. The overhead light did not work and they had comp'd about 1/2 of J from Y class. Everyone was sleeping and could not move to get any work done. I wrote in (Incharge would not give me 'Onboard compensation form') and did receive 3,000 Aeropeso.

This past September I was flying back in J from SIN to YYZ on UA. From HKG to ORD the inflight system for me did not work nor did my overhead. The flight attendant gave me an Onboard Compensation form. My wife's IFE worked by the overhead light did not work. I wrote a letter about the problems with my wife and I with the IFE/overhead lights. UA called and left a msg and asked if two system-wide upgrades at time of booking would be fair compensation. If it was please call me at UA-HQ and leave a msg. If it is not, please call me and we can discuss further. I left a msg indicating the upgrade certificates were fine and now I currently have 10 system-wide upgrades at time of booking on UA.

All I can say...it's all about customer service.

Cheers
