RE transapc in Y, I have done it many times and would have been much happier in C, but obviously it won't kill you (or at least the chance is really really low). Although 1K_From_SNA I have to say if you thought 17A was painful just imagine the people back in e- or even normal e+. The 17 seats look really good in comparison.
