I was escorted to a seperate immigration desk (no 2) bypassing both queues for US citizens and foreign visitors. The immigration officer at no 2 refused to accept me as he was obviously just finishing his shift.

I was therefore moved over to no 3, the first desk for US citizens, ahead of the queue. As I am a German citizenthe immigration officer was irritated, but handled me w/o a problem.

I was then escorted to the luggage belt, my bag came out almost last after all the other priority luggage. Was then escorted to the customs line, but no bypass there. End of "special treatment".

If there would have been the infamous 747 from Asia or South America ahead of me, this would have resulted in saving me up to one hour wait time. Not bad. Hopefully this is something you can rely on in the future.
Very interesting, especially the obvious irregularity. HON only in BOS, HON and F in LAX (at least on March 20). YMMV, as they say.

Btw, my bag (with HON tag) was almost last out, too, after I arrived in LAX (end of February). So cutting short at immigration didn't pay off this time.
