Living in both the US and the UK, I'm always shocked at actually how pathetic the Sky+ DVR is in comparison to the TiVo, let alone the average functionality of the ntl or TeleWest digital boxes.

I know that many of my British friends absolutely love the Sky+ box, but once you've tasted the sweet nectar of even a Series 1 box, I can't see how you'd go back. I'm actually glad to see that Comcast has come to terms with TiVo and will be offering the box as part of their service in the future. As a DirecTV customer, if they bring the pathetic Sky+ box to the US with the intention of prying my TiVo from my cold dead hands, I'll switch in a heartbeat. I'm already disappointed that they've been behind in supporting Ethernet connectivity for remote scheduling (yes... I know there are hacks) and Tivo-to-Go; the Comcast thing might be just the ticket to switch off of DBS for me.
